What's new

So I haven't posted anything in a while so I thought I would give some updates. There hasn't been too much to post lately and since I don't have a camera I also don't really have any pictures to put up either. Since my last blog we have had two holidays. My favorite holiday, Halloween, ended up being pretty uneventful this year. I usually plan a whole month's worth of Halloween themed events but this year I just couldn't quite get into it. The most exciting thing to happen during the month of October was the release of "Michael Jackson's "This is it" in theatres. Needless to say, I was there waiting in line for the first showing on Oct. 28th and the movie was unbelievable. As of now, I have seen it 6 times already. It is amazing to watch but obviously bittersweet. I would have been going to that concert in about 6 weeks. On a side note, I did receive my concert ticket in the mail and it is very cool. On the front there is a hollogram photo of Michael. They also sent me the commemorative booklet from the memorial which is really great. Now I just have to work on getting everything framed.

This month also marks the release of New Moon's (thanks Carly for coming at midnight with me:) I am positive that I won't see this movie nearly as many times as I saw Twilight but I thought this movie was really good. I also went to see So You Think You Can Dance when they came to the Savemart Center a couple weeks ago and that was a lot of fun. We had seats on the floor which initially seemed like a great idea but ended up being a little hard to see. Oh well, that's the story of my life.

Lastly, we just had Thanksgiving a few days ago which was really nice. We had it at my Aunt and Uncle's house this year and it was really fun to get together with all of my family. There has been a lot going on in our family this year so it was nice to sit down and just enjoy being together. This was also the first year in a long time that we didn't do the Black Friday shopping. I usually go with my Mom and sister but this year they were both working so we had to pass. Its okay though since I don't really need an excuse to spend money right now.

Well, believe it or not that is just about all that has happened in the last month. I do have some fun things coming up in the next few weeks so I will try to write about those as they happen. I will have to borrow my Mom's camera so I can take a few pictures to share as well. Bye for now.

Corn Maze...take one!

Anyone who knows me well knows that I LOVE Halloween. It doesn't take much to get me excited when it comes to anything fall related. Anyway, this is my second year creating the "Halloween Calendar of Fun". I am a little late getting it out to everyone but my first activity was supposed to be going to the corn maze and Cobb Ranch. I go every year (usually with my family) and it is always a ton of fun. This last Tuesday I had it all planned out to go. My parents were in and my friend Jacki said that she wanted to go since she had never been. My sister ended up working really early that day and said that she didn't want to go but I ended up giving her a guilt trip to get her to go. The plan was to meet at my parents house at 7:30 and drive up from there. My sister and her boyfriend decided that they were just going to meet us there. So Jacki gets to my parents house and we all pile into the car and make our way to the maze. I was SO excited. We get ready to take the turn off to Cobb Ranch and my dad notices that it is pitch black. With all of my carefull planning and organization, I neglected to check to see when it opened. FYI...not until October 10th. We had gone through all of that trouble and drove all the way out there for nothing. I was so bummed but the worst part was that I had to hear about it ALL night. Luckily I am used to being the butt of the joke and take it well:) Anyway, we didn't get to go to the corn maze but will try it again next week after it officially opens. Needless to say I will be double checking all of the events on the calendar.

Layla

Well, after much talk, and almost a year in our condo, my sister and I finally got a dog! Her name is Layla and we adopted her from ARF (Animal Rescue of Fresno). ARF rescues the dogs from the pound that are about to be euthenized and keeps them until they get adopoted. We saw Layla online and were pretty sure that she was the one we wanted. She is a beagle-terrier mix and is about a year old. We finally brought her home on Wednesday and have been loving her ever since. Here are a few pictures.

She has one ear that stands up - so cute!
As you can tell, she LOVES our blue chair. If you are ever looking for her,
pretty sure that is where you will find her.

She is still getting used to her new home but we are seeing more and more of her personality every day. She is a snuggler and loves to play...except with my parents dog Annie. My parents were out of town for the night so we were Annie was staying with us. Annie wants to play with Layla SO bad but Layla doesn't want any part of it.

This is how they play - at the same time but seperately. Annie looks so big next to Layla!

I'm sure they will be best friends eventually. At least they're not fighting. Layla is a lot of fun so far and I am looking forward to seeing more of her personality come out.

Ready for Fall

So I have been talking about putting my Halloween decorations out for awhile now but I am SO glad that I waited until today to do it. Today was my day off and I really had nothing pressing to do so I got to enjoy the start of my favorite time of year. Once it hits October, I am completely happy all the way through the new year. Well, today I started pulling out all of my decorations and of course once I started going through my boxes, I decided I just didn't have enough stuff (tell that to the three boxes of decorations I didn't end up using). So I spent the afternoon shopping and looking for some cute things to add to my growing collection. I went everywhere and did end up finding some cute things (mostly at Pier 1). Anyway, here are a few pictures of what I accomplished.I still have my parents house to decorate but that will probably have to wait. Now I will need to focus on making my "Halloween Calendar of Fun"! I love Fall!

I'm a Blogger!

Well, I have decided for some reason that I want to create my own blog. I very rarely have anything interesting to say so this should be pretty interesting. Since I don't have time to scrapbook anymore (even though I still insist on collecting things to scrapbook), this will be my way of documenting things going on in my life. If anyone actually takes the time to read this, I hope you enjoy!
